Another treat outside my local pub today

What did they change?

Morel Virtus 402 4" woofer and separate tweeter in the dash to replace the Hertz coaxial that were in there, sealed all the speakers into their mounts as all of them had air getting from the front to the back, swapped the rear wiring as they were out of phase, and fitted a Focal sub.

Not a plane engine as such, and very little part interchangeability meteor and merlin.
Saying that there was the bentley blower built using a meteor engine and supercharged. That was on top gear.

The most important part of any audio install. Not all installers take the care to do it correctly.

The woofers in the doors have quite large chambers that they fit into, previously the woofers were not sealed against them which they should have been.
It's got the subwoofer now as well, but it's night and day.

Lols. That alone would have been a killer.

Was just about to reply that. No wonder it sounded shit

Our Saab is about to shit itself. The engine lamp came on today, a quick visit to our mechanic gave us the error code "particle filter clogged" so it's either gone, or on it's way to go.
I can't be arsed looking for a new car, it consumes me completely. Dunno if I want tips or just need to vent. Maybe I should lease a tiny skoda?

i have been looking at leasing sommat. i always end up ticking every option then i looks expensive as fnck.
i financed the gti, so i was looking at similar levels of outlay over four years. problem is, I now have a car left over that is worth about half what i paid, whereas with a lease, you have nothing and need to stump up another two large to get on the wheel again.
not really a direct comparison, i know

I've done similar maths on a napkin. I really struggle to make financial sense of leasing. Apart from the fact that I don't have £20k sitting around to drop on something a bit more reliable than what we have.

it's the whole paying for the depreciation thing. I can't get my head past the idea. I'd rather buy a 4 year old car that had taken the big hit already*
*i am not going to buy a 4 year old car...

That is the problem with leases. Those nuts deals on Golf R estates were pretty much all poverty spec. I guess at least VW give you some standard equipment. Audi and BMW basically just sell a shell - do you even get electric rear windows as standard?
The key I guess is checking the depreciation / resale. I read someone's breakdown of the S3 vs R vs GTI (PCP rather than lease). iirc due to the better residuals of the Audi it ended up cheaper than the R and about the same as the GTI.
Some of the more premium cars end up with the lease cost ~= the depreciation, which by the power of man-maths makes them free.
@J0nathan - nuts. Maybe they should strip it out to see if they can get it to move a bit faster.

how much were the deals on the r estates? roughly?

That's a) an amazing noise and b) the most boring YouTube clip I've ever abandoned watching due to nothing happening (made it to "now we have to get gas!")

Always wanted a tidy E39. Here's one for £3k

Looks like it's survived pretty well. It'll prob start to rot as soon as I buy it though

Has anyone leased a car from them? Would love to hear more about the experience
-
• #49798
Yeah, the video is shite. The actual details are in this vid from about 2:30.
-
• #49799
Also, this was the original one. Bit shorter vid and more happens. Shame it's 12k for the exhaust system.

Saw this today, still a hella stylee looking car.
I'd just like to say that the stereo in the 911, for long a crushing disappointment, is now super-awesome.
