  • So after 3 months of really struggling with my diet/health and talking with my doctor I think I'm gonna have to take a step backwards to allow myself to stabilise.

Anyone have any experience of reintroducing non-vegan food back into their diet? I'm thinking of doing this in the hope I can go back to a full vegan diet but I think switching too fast has caused me some issues.

  • Bit hard to give advice without knowing what the issues are exactly, yet in general I'd say don't change too much at once (well you say "switching too fast" has led to the problems in the first place), rather transition smoothly.
Remember man (read: your digestive system) is a creature of habit.

  • Having eaten vegan for three months or having issues the last three months? Did you have any issues before?

Like supersalad said, it’s hard to give advice without knowing the circumstances. I’m pretty convinced there’s no need to go back, but you might need some dietary tweaks. In my personal experience doctors know next to nothing when it comes to nutrition.

Obviously I’m here to help you and be challenged on that conviction.
    Feel free to pm

  • If I were you, I'd go directly to a vegan nutritionist. Yours is exactly the kind of issue they deal with all the time. As for doctor's advice on something like this, it's probably akin to:

'Doctor, I have this knee pain.'

    'Stop cycling.'
