Thanks Tom, I'll have a think and let you know... Looks like a very nice frame but I'm trying to persuade myself on the colour.

Got a Dawes Linear 653 - Frame/Forks/Headset in 54 or 55 (will have to take a measure) would this be of interest? I also have a complete 55 (i think) Ribble 653 with Rx100 8 speed group.

Ps - i've just recognised your username from Retrobike - I sold you the 653 frameset over the Christmas break last year... Was it the same frame that was written off? :(

Hello, I'm very sad to say it is that frame. An oncoming car turned across me on my commute, I went into the bonnet, bending the forks back and causing damage to the down-tube. Pretty frustrating state of affairs. As I said - I really liked how it rode which is why I'm keen to replace it with something similar. Keen to hear about what you've got If you'd trust me with another frame!

Oh shit! Are you OK though? That's the main thing.
The dawes linear was dawes' top of the range frame back in the day. Its a raw/unpainted finish with decals lacquered over - original factory finish.
I have another Ribble(!) slightly smaller though (I think it's a 55cm) and built up as a geared 8 speed at the moment - I don't think I can bring myself to strip the group off it as it all rides amazingly.
Both are 653.
For a wildcard, I also have a Specialised Langster that I'm just finishing off...
Are you in Oxfordshire anytime soon? You're welcome to take a look otherwise I can send some photos at some point this week.

Yeah I made it out ok thanks! Bruised etc. but I think otherwise ok...
If you have any photos of either that'd be great, if you could message/email me a couple that would be great. I think the Langster is less up my street to be honest, thanks for the suggestion though.
Hello,
Looking for a 56cm ish steel frame. Was unfortunately involved in a crash recently and my current Reynolds 653 frame has sadly been written off. Really liked the way it rode, so looking for something similar. Had it built up as a single speed and used mostly for commuting.

If you have something suitable please reply/message,
Thanks!
