  • I received my MoniMoto tracker for the cargo bike.

It is small and will fit somewhere hidden!

  • Interesting, don't know anyhting about GPS trackers. Do you have also the subscription?

  • £149 purchase price (I had a 10% discount so paid a tad less).
    6 months rechargeable battery (apparently)
Sim card for data is £3 per month after 2 months for free.

  • OK, thanks for that!

In case anybody is interested how a Xtracycle Kickback 3 fits on a Surly Big Dummy frame, pretty good, only 2 about 35mm long M5 screws needed, and some frame protection (I used pond foil and electric tape -HAHA TUBELESS GUY HAS NO SPARE TYRES - no, would have had tyres):

  • Anyone seen the Bogbi?

I like the single top tube / cargo top bar.
Also has an interesting take on a steering mech. Clever idea, but it looks like a real pain if anything goes wrong, and parts would be an issue.

  • They look good, but not sure about cable steering, that's going to be a pain in the ass long terms surely

  • Here's a full pic, can measure it up when I'm home

  • Wow, that's really not very good at all. And a decent sample size too so not just anecdotal stuff

Sounds like the sort of bike to buy brand new from a shop that deals with them a lot then. I've had one on my dream wish list as I think they're great (on paper/internet), haven't ridden one

My Big Dummy is cheaper but I love the idea of the GSD. Just now not sure whether it would feel a bit small for my stuff/kids.

Is your shop based in London?

  • Interesting, didn't know they could be fitted

I have the kickback 1 fitted to my bike and it's absolutely brilliant.

Rolling jackass looks even better but very spendy!

  • Thanks for that - I'm going to get one ordered now !

  • Can you post a wider photo of the Kickstand 3 on the Dummy pls ? Thanks !

  • The Rolling Jackass is for sure great, but I just can't justify the price – what is the remote control cable for BTW?

  • This, thats a bad job, looks like I made it which is not a good thing.

  • I think it's intended so you can engage and release the stand while you're standing on it. I can definitely see uses for it, but not at that price.

Getting on and off and engaging my stand is fine, I can even release it when I'm standing over the bike. But I'm tall, might be more of a problem if you're short and getting on and off the bike is a bit more wobbly

  • Thanks - That looks great ! Did you have to cut it down ?

  • No, didn't cut it down – so far it looks OK!

  • It looks good - I’m going to email Xtracycle and ask why they think it won’t work on a Big Dummy

  • I've seen a response from this in the past

They think it might but haven't checked so won't guarantee it. They no longer collaborate on stuff and the design team have changed so it's likely but not definite

  • Not sure if you are trolling or not...

That's a Pashley Pronto / Pashley Mailstar / Pashley previously used by TNT / a reconditioned Pashley by Elephant.

There are loads and loads available on eBay.

They have Sturmey Archer drum brakes and internal gears so they are pretty much indestructible.

  • @Vince
And actually pretty ok when electrified to compensate for their weight!
Don’t know what’s going on with the front carrier though...

  • I have one and it is the bike I've owned the longest!

I saw on the Pashley website that they have released / are releasing an official e-pronto version and also a P2 Cargo version. I could not find their prices anywhere so not sure why.

The front carrier on that specific one is from an ex TNT (the courier company) rack which allowed them to use a bespoke bag.
