Hadn't seen that. Reviews certainly mixed.
They have a £70 used/like new from Amazon though.

fwiw, I came to the same conclusion as you.
I thought the Surface was really superb kit. Slick and well made, but I replaced it with a Dell laptop in the end, mainly because I wasn't ever using it as a tablet so decided a 'proper' keyboard would be useful.
Not sure what you mean about the flip on the back? I had a Surface Pro 4 with the type cover/keyboard.
That's the only option available to you I think (happy to be corrected, sold mine on here a couple of years back), and I found it a decent keyboard.
