Since alloy frames with replaceable mech hangers, usefully individually sculpted for every single manufacturer and model.
A bit like the agreed standardisation of all bottom brackets, with no planned obsolescence whatsoever....

Since whenever who wrote that bullshit came up with it. Replaceable hangers are a sacrificial item, but correctly designed, installed and used they should last as long as the frame as long as you don't whack them.
