Cummings is the latest in a long line of PM advisers who've been made out to be some kind of strategic genius. It turns out that he's an egotistical twat who has just had Jeremy Corbyn and his advisers run rings around him.

The Express, Mail and Sun are all painting this as a Corbyn failure. That's the core base Bojo and Cummings care about. That base won't have seen his incoherent nationalist wafflings in Parliament yesterday as a fail.
