Kidding.
Price wise, Alpkit is hard to beat, the design are fairly basic but it's also an older design that had work well in the past (while other manufacturers like Porcelain Rocket has been redesigning their), it does have necessity feature such as a cam lock side release buckles.
Their recent Exo-Rail seemed like a nice option, especially for off road.

Does anyone have a single speed/Alfine Arkose they're looking to part with in a medium or large size?

At least it packs down and will fit on a TGV when you scratch from your expedition.

I totally understand if you're on a train/plane trip with some local touring when you disembark but I don't think I could handle riding one for any length of time. That said, if that WAS your idea, not sure this special edition at 500 quid more would make much sense.

Also, never say never. Maybe they'll tap you up to do SRMR on one next year for big bucks ;)

Would be faster to fold it up onto a backpack and walk the route.

Hence showing it's portability and suitability to all terrains. Win-win.

Well that's that big contract gone.

Plenty of people have done some serious touring on Bromptons, so it's not any sillier than a lot of special editions that we've seen before...

in most cases, if you’re thinking about getting a gravel bike, you should probably get a hardtail

Glad I never got into gravel cycling. On an audax once when forced to ride on gravel I decided to take a longer route on road. /csb

TBH, I view them as an investment, like tent, a good one can last you eons, if not several decades.
