How much would it be to ship a kg to Ireland?
-
• #16230
Ordered yesterday, received this morning by 11am!
Thanks @StevePeel - I will see how I get on with it but I already like the pink sticker ;-)

• #16231

I am at Taylor St Barista’s, St Paul’s my ‘go to’ coffee place in this hood.
Apparently, Taylor St have been bought out by Black Sheep.
Why do all the good things in life end up getting fucked?

Nice filter coffee setup there though!
-
• #16236

What's the hive mind opinion on the best one cup morning brew method? V60? Aeropress?
-
• #16240
I use Aeropress during the week at work and V60 on the weekend because it takes longer and seems more involved.
-
• #16241
lightly tamped moka
-
• #16242
V60 is a lot of faff first thing in the morning. Aeropress is easily repeatable for my non caffeinated morning brain!
-
• #16243
Workdays I use v60 for enough for 2 x brews, 1 straight to mug 1 into flask for Ron.
Non workday 1 brew is Aeropress.

Cold-brew brewed overnight pretty hard to beat for speed in the morning.

I need to replace the Solonoid valve in my Gaggia Baby.
https://www.mrbean2cup.co.uk/olab-solenoid-valve-for-gaggia-manual-machines-230v
Is that the correct part?
Thanks
-
• #16246
Not 100% on that, but are you sure it needs replacing completely? Have you tried tapping on it/taking it apart and soaking it?
-
• #16247
Yeah, had it all apart and tried rescaling etc.
It worked for about a week then stopped again.
Seems the bigger solenoid will hopefully block less often
-
• #16248
@thanksbye Sorry to see the solenoid valve has packed in already.
They all do at some point unfortunately.
The part looks right although the price seems a tad steep at £39.99+P&P.Some refurbished ones on eBay at £23:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Solenoid-valve-220V-50Hz-Ceme-for-Gaggia-Classic-Baby-Philips-Saeco-de-longhi/173934992085The listing indicates that the boiler also need to be cleaned to avoid blockages.
Effectively, those machine do not like standing still with water in them... -
• #16249
£23 sounds better!
These things happen.
Thanks

Contact the guy and tell him you could send your "old" one back, there might be a discount!
Cheers for the quick delivery @StevePeel - Just made a litre in the technivorm with 72g. Loads of life left in it - might even be in for a second kilo depending on how fast I get through/if there's stock left.
