Aside from the normal movement around the axle there's no internal moving parts (when you're pedalling) so should be pretty efficient no? Or at least not significantly less than a singlespeed?
yes Im thinking that too.
Still most internal gear hubs in the direct drive gear lack behind a singlespeed setup. But that could be because of components/bearings/more sealing and not because of the mechanism itself :)
