Ah, yes sorry

bosch washing machines and dishwashers

I'll second the Bosch. We have one that we abused daily (2 offspring and girlfriend who changes clothes often), far beyond its weight limits for four years and it's working without fault. And it wasn't even a fancy one (sub 300 GBP).

Avoid Samsung washers like the plague. Drum bearings failed after less than 2 years which required entire innards being replaced under warranty as bearings not serviceable.

I got an AEG one in the end. £300 in the John Lewis sale.
Definite upgrade on the old one, although I do sometimes miss the dryer part of it

the environment thanks you

is there a tester approved layback seatpost?
-
• #859
Kalloy Uno surely.
-
• #860
the grooves in adjustment dont offer similar precision as 2 bolt mechanism ..

these look good though: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32667567314.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.73b63c00ubBgFW&mp=1

The SP-248 is not notched.

This is your best bet:

SP-248
My work here is done

Probably made by Kalloy
Yes, but not any normal person's idea of laid back

these look good
If you want a combined muzzle brake and compensator on your seatpost.
-
• #867
Is the SP-248 the one with a small sticker at the back, hiding the end of the forging? I find this extremely displeasing, esthetically.

I'd never noticed that. I now realise that I've been wrong all these years to recommend a cheap seat post with a really good clamping mechanism which is available in two lengths, both colours and every diameter known to Christendom, because some fucking weirdo on the internet can't handle a tiny cosmetic decal which is hidden on most bikes by either the saddlebag or a crust of dirt 😢

• #869
But is it a question of ethics or aesthetics?
-
• #870
Or calisthenics?

I now realise that I've been wrong all these years
Glad I could enlighten you on this matter ;-)
More seriously, I just wanted to be sure that it was that same seatpost and not another model, that would be more tastefully finished.
I guess for weirdos like me, Nitto would be the answer? -

I was letting that slide, he might be a 'merkin and you shouldn't mock the afflicted.
-
• #873
Yes, you should.
-
• #874
Nitto would be the answer?
It's the answer to the question "which set-back seat post with detentless pitch adjustment is only 6 times the price of a Kalloy SP-248?"
It's not the answer if you want length >300mm or diameter <26.8 or >27.2 -

15mm? Time to consult DSM-5.
No, but there is a thread search function which takes you in a few clicks to this:
