No they're apparently only just done the repair, a year after the leak.

And the first I heard wasnt a message saying hey were just getting around to doing the repair. But a text message asking if I want a receipt. I guess assuming that I'll just be paying.

Hi, I own the flat directly below no6 (no5). We've finally got round to repainting the ceiling from when water leaked through from the upstairs kitchen. It was a day plus materials for a painter. £240 inc. Would you like a receipt for the work? Cheers

I think most people would contacted beforehand to confirm you were still ok to pay and give details. But the outcome would still have been £240.
Can you pay in sausages?
