suggestions on external fabic? I like the idea on wind resistant, I won't be using a bivy or tent

Pretty sure you'll end up with a sopping wet bag using that silnylon. Look for a nylon taffeta for lining. Listed under uncoated/inelastic.

Although @platypus best to ask, as it's beyond my limited knowledge.

Actually went with this: https://www.extremtextil.de/ripstop-nylon-daunendicht-soft-20den-40g-qm.html

as it comes in a nice olive, whihc is more subtle than the blue or red!
