anyone know where I can get primaloft gold in the UK. Thinknig of making a quilt for myself.
going walking in italy and just need something to take the cool off, and some windproof material to house it
I guess I can just take my phd sigma jacket and pants, maybe i'll do that
Edit: found all I need at https://www.extremtextil.de

Climashield apex much easier to work with, as it does not need 'quilting',IE one continuous perimeter stitch is enough. Made a double quilt for summer, that came in at about 650gm. Plus it's easier to get hold of.
Used extremtextil to buy it. -

Thanks. Considering going with down now and wateresistant outer.
Will likely make a few and of bother synthetic and down

Just get the baffles right if you go with down. Reddit is a great resource for tips.
Edit: Dubber design have a good tool for baffles.

"Reptar hikes" and "backcountry banter"on YouTube were both helpful for me.

ok the pertex endurance will be good then
Actually went with this: https://www.extremtextil.de/ripstop-nylon-daunendicht-soft-20den-40g-qm.html
as it comes in a nice olive, whihc is more subtle than the blue or red!

What weight insulation did you go for?

133g/m2
For a few more grams (over 100) it'll make it more flexible. Based the choice off as tucas and gramxpert.eu ratings

Nice, the 67g was fine for low level stuff summer. Next project for me is a quilt for Mrs kurai, made with the 200g stuff. Get hot just moving it haha.
-
• #721
yeah i'm sure the 133 will be overkill a bit, but for a few grams, I'd rather have a more rounded quilt. I can make more in time as i learn what temps it works for.

How did you get on with the quilt? How much did the materials cost you all in?
-
• #725
The material has not even arrived, you've just reminded me. I shall sent an email to them and cancel it.
My Alpkit Cloudbase is leaking and I can't bloody find the hole, but will now check better at the valve in case it's the same fault.
Probably time to upgrade anyway, Exped UL/HL look good.
