  • If you only have an RD you probably don't need a Junction B if you can run a wire all the way to the front junction (Junc A).

On the other hand, you might need to add a battery into the mix somewhere...

  • I had a few emails with the guy who did that video in trying to sort out the bar end junction box. Glad I made the effort in the long run but it was an arse trying to get everything just as I wanted it (bought the Pro bars with the holes already in so no drilling/filing for me).

My R8070 shifters have two ports in them so one port in the left goes to the bar-end, one to the RHS and the 2nd port on the RHS is the one that goes into the frame.

  • I always forget something

But if he had the 2-port shifters the battery could also be wired direct.

  • They’re 6870 I think

  • I see.

    What does this mean?

  • Y cable into both shifters and Junc A.
Battery into Left shifter, RD into Right shifter.

  • Great!

Are all di2 wires the same just different lengths?

  • In which case @atz I’ll take it!
If @danb doesn’t mind. I don’t like offers, what do you want?

  • Assuming you don't buy the original Di2 cables from so old 10spd build.

  • I've got SW r9150 climbing shifters which apparently don't need a 'brain' to connect into ie into the shifters. Someone on slowtwitch just connected directly into a 5 port junction box.

If I've got 9160 bar ends I am wondering if I can connect both using a y cable into the junction (already had junction A's to allow this).

  • This is for a 1x TT setup btw - and trying to avoid the soldering wire solution previously mentioned..

Yeah, they'd work the same as the TT shifters. You just plug them into a 5-port alongside the normal shifters (or a 3-ports if you don't have normal shifters, ie. TT bike).

  • Safe. Means I can sell a set of the older TT bar end and brake shifters with a 5 port...anyone interested?

    No splits at this stage..

  • £3.50

    and that's my final offer!

  • Alright, £5

  • Postage £195

  • Interested in brake levers and 5 port...

  • Cool, send me a PM as happy to sell those as a pair.

  • id be interested in the bar end shifters...

  • House!

  • Any hints on how to stop the tab snapping on the eTap battery? Now on about number 6 and getting fed up losing shifting half way through a ride.
Latest issue with Wiggle warranty for a decision on whether they will exchange.

  • Not had battery tan issue, but about to send my wifli one back for warranty replacement, hopefully.
    What have wiggle said?

  • Still waiting. Sent the email and pictures off this morning. Must admit getting to the point where the reliability of cable would be a temptation.
