I always liked the Bose system in the Cayman, but it was almost always used for Radio 4, which is hardly demanding.

What’s the labour rate on that?!

< insert some cliché about the flat 6 being the only audio you need >
On a country road with long sightlines and no other traffic? Yes.
Crawling into London at rush hour? No.

awesome post. total bright times. all hail the little panda.

In London? I’d expect it to be £100/hour inclusive of VAT or thereabouts.

I second this, Fiat Panda is a winner.

For ultimate cool, get a panda 100hp.
I had a lovely 1.2 16v temporarily before I moved to London. The only fault i can think of was the fact that i owned it after an m3 evo. That said, it may have only been able to manage 60mph,but it done 60mph everywhere.

Ouch. 255+vat is 5-6 hours labour here, which seems excessive for fitting a couple of speakers.
-
• #49513
I’m assuming it’s two to two and a half hours, which knowing the car and the speakers sounds about right.
I did leave the car with them saying “just make it all work”, as long as that’s what happens and we keep it relatively sensible I’m ok with it.
The place in question (Auto Audio) have a good reputation, have won awards for their work- so fingers crossed.

For ultimate cool, get a panda 4x4
ftfy
We rented one in Tuscany and I fucking loved it. My OH thought it looked like a special needs mobility vehicle. Got a photo somewhere of it parked next to an OG one.

Looks pretty tidy and low mileage. No roofbars, though, so you might need to look into how easy they are to fit aftermarket if you'd want the setup @stevo_com has (which I also have on a Volvo V50 and is excellent).
EDIT: Put the reg in here and you can see the MOT history and see how many miles it's done in between to start building a picture of how it's lived and if it's been thrashed or left sat. Plenty of advisories - mostly tyres and suspension, which are no doubt linked... https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

You're right.
I'll see if I can find it on my camera, and post when I get home.

Yep, but there seems to be persistent advisories since then that are suspension/corrosion related. 'GV' reg is Brighton, so it's probably a result of living by the sea.
Basically those advisories could turn into fails if they're not fixed.

swerve!
you need to keep your eyes peeled for someone's granny that is flogging their little run around

• #49523
got it! thanks both! will keep an eye out and keep window shopping
-

£2k for that does seems expensive too. The rear beam is prone to rust, by the sea or not.
-
• #49525
The rear suspension mount corrosion is a thing with pandas. Something do with the design causing standing water. As such, there are few spares available. That's the only thing I know to look out for. So yeah, swerve that one.
According to the net, the Bose system in the Boxster 987 is meant to be really good with sound deadening added to the doors. Maybe have a look at that set up to see what they're doing right.
