No pen for me. Kane pushed Lascelles and it was inevitable he would fall. Ref and VAR (and all the refs marshalling it) got it right. The Sheriff had no complaints...the result was complimentary to Spurs.

Spurs losing to NUFC
In most seasons we would have celebrated this, but this year Newcastle are a direct competitor in the relegation fight and so it was sad and rather distasteful to be wishing that Spurs would come back.

They also picked up players for nothing or little, with no resale value, but who did a job - Huth, Albrighton, Simpson...
The model’s different now and higher risk financially- Maddison, Maguire, Justin, etc. in the £20m bracket - or trusting in and developing young-uns from the academy - Hamza, Barnes, Chilwell...

There's been a few pretty dodgy buys as well - Slimani, Kramaric, Iheanacho.

That’s very true. Add silva and kaputska to that list. Recruitment after the title win was chaotic, but we’re probably still in credit

Has MikeC hacked into your account? The heavens tumbling down on the Spuds is an annual occurrence, one we have all come to love...

I'm enjoying listening to the West Ham/Newport game solely because of the constant references to 'a yeti' on the pitch.
-
• #151185
Well at least I can say I’ve been to Crawley, another ground ticked and one more to come on Saturday at West Ham - haven’t done two ticks in a week for years!

'a yeti' on the pitch.
Has @furious_tiles been streaking again then?

Maybe starting in the League Cup tonight?
Maybe. Maybe not.

In 5 a side news. Out team won the league with a game to go, the last game would have been a decider but they lost the penultimate game we won. La la la champion. In the last game they got all petulant and wanted to kick us off the pitch loads of handbags all over the place. Daft.
I'm retireing from the west island school leage after a successful season. I was Brought in to do a job. (run about get in the way) I did that job. But couldn't have done it with out the lads. (puts trophy on head does a little dance) -

Nice!

We just lost a record from our trophy cabinet to a Mexican team. Longest run of games without a win or ‘worst streak’ (not counting Clive at Clapton CFC).

That's the one thing I don't miss about 5 aside, getting booted all over shop by lads with massive anger issues... that and losing 18-4 to some 18-year-olds who play for the county. Grim.

Thanks all @jaw we still beat them and there was a lot of that at the end.
@Tonts yeah the daft grief was silly all I wanted was a game but some took it vv serious on my team too.
@cornelius_blackfoot thanks
@Chalfie there is still a place up for grabs for a mobile angry midfielder if she is up for it. 👍 Champions
@Ramsaye always next year -

I gather 'real' 5-a-side is more serious than the MVF league I play in but even accidentally, a 200kg man-mountain taking you out hurts!
I’d say that a successful scout would be the ones uncovering hidden gems at lower levels with less hype around them. Although it pains me to say it, I think the Leicester scouting system is better than Southamptons. Picking up players like Vardy, Mahrez, Maguire, Kante (although he was quite well known when they signed him) etc. for so little and getting exceptional prices for them if they’re sold on.
