If you put a 27.5 fork in that, and a 27.5" wheel the geo gets messed up. Get a fork designed for 26" and reduce the front tyre size as you presumably have done on the rear?

yep, its got good clearance at the back, running 27.5x 2.00 with room at the mo.
I'm only gonna do some light singletrack/bikepacking stuff. A 26inch fork sounds like a good shout.
Would something like this: https://www.probikeshop.com/en/gb/rockshox-30-silver-tk-27-5-100-mm-fork-coil-remote-straight-steerer-9-mm-axle-black-2019/151237.html
(if you ignore the wheelsize) be any good, or will it just be a heavy shit fork and I'd be better off staying rigid? -

That will be fine if you aren't after anything that needs any finesse. It's coil so reasonably bomb proof but by no means light.
Forks with steel stanchions need a bit more care than alu as the stanchions can corrode if left wet which then eats the fork alive.
I'd look out for some RS Rebas

I don't have Dammit levels of disposable income right now, so "cheap forks aren't worth it" is a totally valid answer.

Thanks!

Some of the older 26" fox forks might take 27.5" wheels.

Does anyone have any experience of 12 speed NX Eagle? There's a comment up-thread suggesting it's flaky, I know it's not top of the range but I assume it works fine...?
And the same question for Guide T brakes.
I'm currently living in the past on 10-speed Deore XT...

• #14488
I thought it was fine

I'm happy with my Guide brakes. Hated the shifter on my NX (GX isn't much better) tho. If you can stretch to it get a 12 speed XT shifter, you'll get multi up and down shift, and it feels much better.
