Will be difficult unless Jay has some kind of mechanical trouble. Jay has about 100k left now and is 100k ahead of James.

Great effort from skinny to overhaul Jeff K. If he reels in Jay it will be the stuff of legend. Highly unlikely but that last climb looks monstrous though, so who knows what can happen.

Jay doesn’t appear to be on the final climb on my tracker. There’s a decent bit of valley, so I’d expect skinny to feel him in for a bit before the climb.

And chapeau Lael. What a cracking ride!

I briefly glanced at a discussion on facebook and they were suggesting that ultrarunners are used to sleeping far less than ultracyclists do and better at managing fatigue, and that was on Jakubs side, not looked to see if Jakubs sleeping pattern bears that out though

Look at this photo. He looks fresh as a daisy, it’s genuinely ridiculous how together he looks after 1700km and a bollockload of climbing. I’m in a worse state after my commute.

He's on the steeper part of the climb so it's hard to tell if there'll be a catch. It's close though.

It's harder to fall aslseep while running and less risky if you do manage it.

Yesterday I literally cycled to a brewery then home via a kebab shop. My race bike still doesn't have a chain on it or a front wheel. #youreterriblemuriel

Less than 20km between Jay and Skinny. Though Jay’s on the last climb. This could be amazing.

That is truly a victory of epic proportions, especially when you consider that for almost 30% of his total ride time he wasn’t moving (52 hours and 12min).

Lael spent just 30 hours stopped, approx 16% of her total ride time, including a 8.5minute power nap on the final stretch.

I'm sad for Skinny. They didn't just try to rob a tired, vulnerable person out in the middle of nowhere, they robbed us of what would have been a brilliant finish to this race. It was shaping up to be one of the best endings. He was doing so well (and still is). Fuck those guys.
