Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you but are you suggesting that people who don't think that fascism needs opposing (normally fascists) just need a good stern talking to?
I'm very much of the opinion that people like that need a decent slapping.
I can't think of too many historical examples of a chat being an effective countermeasure to fascist beliefs.

If anything history in Germany, Italy, Spain shows that the extreme right is a minority, the extreme left is a minority, and that both commit atrocities and violence in the name of defeating the other whilst staging and falsifying propaganda to win support for their respective causes from the ever docile and centrists. Most Nazis were not ideologues. Most 'Fascists' were not ideologues. They were opportunists, allowed themselves to be led by popular opinion, or just scared of voicing opposition.
It seems evident to me that the right wing is always better funded and more prepared to plumb the depths of human behaviour and less contained by moral limits simply because of the type of people it attracts who see like Trump, Mogg or Hunt, an opportunity for personal gain.
So what I'm saying is that the left really needs to up it's Dank Meme game or we're all fucked.

I'm very much of the opinion that resorting to violence is counterproductive if you're trying to convert opponents to your political viewpoint.

Thanks for letting me know how you feel, but if I ever meet anybody who thinks there's no need to oppose fascism I'll probably still try to talk them around to the idea that it's worth doing.
