  • I thought KWP, and the whole defence, were pretty poor. Sterling had the beating of him for most of the game and really shouldn't give him a free header.

The defence is probably going to be Spurs' biggest liability this season.

  • footballers so shocked at racism they're gonna quit social media .... for a little while

    ahhhhh problem solved

  • maybe we should put footballers in charge of brexit

  • Ian Holloway is an utter belm, isn’t he?

  • In so many ways... not just the utter ignorance and stupidity, but the jingoistic assumption that it's 'our game' and we should still be making the rules. If it was down to reactionary cunts like him, there'd still be no substitutes and England would be boycotting the World Cup because it's not as good as the Home Championship.

    But contested drop-balls!

  • Is it time to merge the footy thread with the Brexit thread?

  • Of the highest order...stupid on the VAR/Brexit thing but he would also transfer list Lingard for being young and making a video on a hotel room. Idiot.

  • Merge everything into this thread

  • Except the international tournament threads.

  • And the current projects/hhrsbsrrrbshhfhshdffhhhhh stuff

  • Yes. I seem to remember reading somewhere that he has 4x daughters, 3 of whom are profoundly deaf. A cruel man, might suggest that the one who isn't is very unlucky.

  • reckon it could be over a decade since I last watched the professionals live. but was cracking tense game in the brilliant company of our two resident baggies and two thirds of our resident tims. @clintsmoker and @Soul

loved it. Will try and see the albion a bit more this year when they play London teams

  • Got to say I was chuffed with Reading's performance, would have been happy with a point at the start but obviously a late penalty is a bit of a downer. Baggies look a decent side and Bilic enough nous about him to see you there or thereabouts at the end of the season

  • Great to see you and @clintsmoker - shame we couldn't get a win but i thought we were good value.

  • Top evening at the Hawthorns with jinny and Tim. Good game of football with plenty to moan about as well as admire which is the best combination let's face it.
@furious_tiles your lad was a little bit off his game but got a 6/7 out of ten from me. Very excited to see Pereira linKing up with krovinovic in the last 15 mins. Reading were good value for a point.

  • 19 of the 24 championship teams have played in the premier league at some stage. Wonder if it’s ever been higher?

  • Bristol City, Preston, Millwall, Brentford, Luton who haven't? It's feasible that one of those could go up, probably most likely Bristol City given their recent finishes.

Millwall and Luton will hopefully go down (though I doubt Luton will).

And Ipswich (please!), Portsmouth and Sunderland could come up.

It could get even lower. Although if you go back before football was invented in 1992 it would look very different.

  • Anyone got Euro 2020 tickets in the ballot?

I put in for 3 tickets for all of the Wembley games.

First draw I got 3 sets (last Group D game, first Round-of-16 game and the Wednesday Semi). 50EUR each (semi tickets were 85EUR each).

Email yesterday with a second stab as not all of the ballot winners had purchased theirs. Picked up another 3 50EUR tickets for the Sun 14th Group D game and the Fri 19th Group D game.

Could have got the other Semi (85EUR each) and final (bottom two categories sold out so cheapest tickets were 595EUR) but that's already 800EUR spent on them.

  • I’ve bought two tickets for match 32 - group D at Wembley
And then I have two tickets for match 48 - quarter final in Rome.

Got both sets in the original ballot. Should be fun.

Group D was category 1 and quarter final was category 2 so €660 in total.

  • I didn't get any in the first round and was too slow yesterday, so only managed Cat 2 tickets for that Sunday group D game (120€ each). Tickets for the final were popping in and out of availability but like you say, only the top two categories and I can't really justify that sort of money!

  • Good result @villa-ru
poor from Everton. Reckon we know someone who will be reaching for the harpic tonight

  • Great result. Deserved a bit of luck but, yeah, Everton were a bit shit. Especially Gomes who had a shocker + Walcott's miss. Good to be on our way now - will settle everyone down.

  • Being schooled by Norwich.

And that’s just in the warm up.

  • A functioning No.9?
