  • Oh no. Was it stolen from the street or from a property?

Unfortunately, there seem to be a number of bike thieves active in Lower Clapton--not entirely surprising given how rich the pickings are. Good luck in getting it back.

  • Sorry if I was not clear - it is not my bike, just a stolen one spotted on eBay

  • That's Wei's, who runs Foundation bike fit. Comes to yours riding the bike, which has all the kit on. I'm so sad for him...

  • Placed deposit and order Omnium Mini today in my local bike shop.

Think I have almost all parts apart from wheelset.

Will probably get something build from scratch (both front and rear). Any recommendation on what will would be suitable?

Upon reading through this thread, gonna go with 406 rim as recommended.

Black rim (disc) and black hubs.

    Thanks for advice!

  • just paid in full for something I've wanted for close to 5 years... Larry Harry. I got the white e6100 version with a big two seater cargo box for the kiddos that converts to a flat bed for utility stuff.

In a way, I'm more excited for this bike than any bike I've ever had. and I've had a lot of fooooking bikes.

when I get it, it will look like this:

  • Folding box sounds awesome!

  • Ah, sorry, sloppy reading. I did think I remembered you'd moved south of the river. Very sorry to hear about that for Wei. *So* hoping it'll be found.

  • Is the box held together by a ratchet strap, nice idea I like that!

  • YUP!

  • Especially I always thought that those standard Bullitt boxes are rather small for example two kids, one bike and some things, or one kid and stuff. OK, you wouldn't expect to use it as a standard for two kids.

  • Any more info about the box, looks interesting!

  • This one overhangs by a few inches on either side.

  • It's expensive, but cheaper than other options. I could definitely construct something similar, but after buying the wood, rigging up the restraints, and putting in the time I don't have, I decided it was worth it.

It's from Splendid Cycles called the Holde Box:

  • Blimey. I know of two more Christiana trikes stolen on the same evening, in the same area. Looks like a proper operation. Image of one below.

  • I wondered if or when cargo bike theft would start to become a thing. Be interesting to see where they resurface, which will probably point to whether they’re being stolen by general thief scum or if it’s a steal to order sort of thing.

  • Hah, mental this! V cool tho.

    What kickstand are you using?

  • I’m guessing if it’s a proper operation they are being ordered, and likely there will be more taken, and then they’ll resurface in a different colour somewhere on the continent.

  • It's been on there so long I can't remember..

  • Not the worst you can do with bamboo and epoxy:

  • Bamboo cranks or gtfo

  • Bamboo disc brakes!

  • Like that front mudguard

  • Is that in the uk? Had a customer tried to get a splendid box to UK before and didn't pan out

E6100 is a fair bit more efficient and quieter than the e6000, similar power and feel though, oh and lower drag which is nice. Did you go for nexus 5?

  • everything was so right until the upside down headlight
