I'm not really sure where the time went as I've barely slept since the start. Although
I continued my ways of spending too much time at controls and drinking beer regularly throughout.

Seems to be a hard one from what I've read from other people. Headwinds and then heat on the retour.

Losing time to faffing or just chatting is all too easy. I'd like to think I'd be more ruthless if I ever did it again. Beer is dangerous. In 2011 I had a couple of panaches in Sizun and another somewhere near Mayenne (I think) and could easily have just sat there for longer each time.

Well done all! The patisserie treats on Insta make this ride look tempting.

Finished this morning so just over 75 hours. Found the course quite unrelenting, no chance to really cruise along as constant up and down. So lucky with the weather but so cold at night!

I'd just had an espresso and brandy at one of those tabac places and was feeling great.

The whole experience was amazing, but my last 18 hours, of 86, was the most enjoyable, just comfortable with energy. Finally got my fueling right, and all the niggles stopped, especially the really worrying hip cramps I was getting half way. Was only overtaking for the last 200k, but I was at the back I guess. Has already made me forget about the toughness of the first 800k.
The French evidently do genuinely love cycling. The vibe on the road for the entire route was incredible. Also really enjoyed mixing with audaxers from all over the world. Everyone is so different, but all so randonneur. Except those fully supported few, which seems so at odds with the spirit of the thing.
UK audax does however do MUCH better food. But in the grand scheme of things that's a minor issue.
Learnt so much. Would be very tempted to do again. Hopefully on my own bike next time!

Well done to everyone taking part. I've had a close eye on the event this time around and it looks like an amazing experience. Maybe I'll attempt it myself one day.

what an experience.

Wednesday was fucking hard. got about 3 hours sleep out of the almost 89 hours we were in the road. started hallucinating at one point. also thought I lost my Wahoo at the penultimate control.

loved spotting @Klar and getting an impromptu chain gang going about 870km in. ridiculous.
