Has this got a weird BB diameter/thread?
-
• #3
Yes but you can apparently use two drive side bsc cups - it's an exciting mystery

You can just re-thread it with ease. Seatpost diameter on this one is 25mm if I'm not mistaken. Later KHVZ Record bike.

Didn’t know the shell was a ‘normal’ diameter. On holiday for a week and a bit. Will check back, if it’s still here.
Did it have another headtube badge at some point? Is that a second lower rivet hole? Just curious.

Record Frames had only that metal badge on the headtube. More "higher" end soviet models had that badge painted instead

The bb thread is conventional size but it is right-hand threaded on both sides. As mentioned, use two right hand cups off a sealed bb that comes apart eg Neco. Pm me if you want help with this or the headset which is 26mm thread / 30.4mm cups

Dibs. I'll take this if it's still going.

I’ve got a painted one of these, absolutely bomb proof and can squeeze 32mm tyres!

still up for grabs!
Selling my XB3 Track Frame, was going to make something of it but as usual ran out of time and am now moving house, so need to clear stuff out. It's a wicked frame and is totally raw so will be a great project for someone looking to put in the time on a soviet track bike.
