  • Stuff like this can be jumped on to question the validity of a story by certain folk with certain agendas, see Brazils pres. Accuracy of reporting can be important in that respect to ensure the story is the story and not the validity of the story coz someone used a stock image!

  • I get what you're saying and agree it's very important to report accurately, yet in a case like this, where the whole situation is backed up by sattelite imagery and it's fucking happening on such a large scale does it really make a difference whether the picture of burning rainforest is from today or not?
    It's not like some folks try to fake a scenario here where there isn't one.

    No, some folks will claim the scenario is fake or exaggerated though if they can show some pictures aren't from the actual issue. So it helps their propaganda war. Why give them the help?
