Ta, we gave him a proper burial last night, had he been there for anothers he'd have wondered why the fuss, then played for tickles, then bit someone.
We're already wondering how to stop the garden mice population spiking... rescue mouser maybe or train one from a kitten perhaps.

Every night, when the TV gets switched off, they put themselves to bed...

This fucker.
Gets let out at 07:30.
Doesn't come in for breakfast which is weird because she loves to eat and never goes out for more than an hour.
I call her all day out front and back, check the neighbour's yards and jump the wall into the vacant lot and bramble forest, nothing.
Even printed up lost cat flyers to post down my street..
At 18:16 just saunters in the side door purring.

Say hello to my french cat. No idea who's cat it is, but seems to be very friendly and found me while I was sitting on a bench. Came over and meowed very loudly at me. Got fuss and then wanted me to come over and tummy rub. So far has found me every day. My cats aren't happy that I am cheating on them.

Coming up to 2 weeks of house arrest for mine.
Supervised exercise in the new garden went pear shaped when he vaulted the fence only to find he was now on the roof of brick shithouse next door.
Coaxed back to belly grab range and hoiked back.
New garden is bigger, fenced in, no holes but a side gate. Lots of hiding holes.Still coming back on shaking of packet of dreamies or go-cat box.
Got new collar which won't last long. Need to introduce him to the front of the house/garden then maybe parole granted mid-week.Had forgotten how much poop comes out of a cat, so far all in litter tray, no dirty protests.

Garfield. Not our cat but spends most of the day at our house, playing with our two, eating a shed load of food, sleeping and causing mayhem. Has been coming round for a few months now, finally found out his name and where he lives (from another neighbour) which is a few houses down the road; seems the owners don't a flying fuck about his whereabouts as he is often at our place from 7am til midnight. He uses our cat flap, stays in our house and our/immediate neighbour's garden with our two, doesn't seem to want to go home until late at night. Was also very scared of being touched when he first started coming round, he was only a big kitten really and would flinch when you went to stroke him. He is not shy of other people but only in that he doesn't run away, he does not rub his head on your legs and I have never heard him purr but he will let us stroke him now and can be very playful with toys, so I think he is slowly learning affection.

Their poop poop can easily be as big as them. I wonder how!
Patch now doesn’t even bother burying them! 🤷🏻♀️

Beautiful!
I think you should consider the finder’s the keep logic! Especially if the rightful owner doesn’t care.

I would speak to the owners before you start letting Garfield eat your food. Our old neighbours started feeding our cats, then the cats would expect it, so would go meowing at their window every morning. Then the neighbours thought that we didn't take care of our cats and basically tried to steal them from us.
Cats will eat where there's food and hang where there's friends. You might be more available for cuddles at certain times of day, but all that does is discourage the cat from going home to it's owner. Of course if you speak to them and it's chill then go ahead, but as someone who has experienced a similar sounding situation from the other side, best to ask. -

Ta for comments all. We're away, which is a useful distraction for daughter who was insisting we get a dog. Need something that'll catch mice & make a nice pet... a owl?

I had an infestation of rats on my boat last week, until my dogs came to stay (part-time parent) and the vermin were terrorised out in 2 days - get a spaniel.

She actually like having her tummy tickled, as long ash hand goes the same direction as her fur and I only go 1 direction very slowly.

Found remains of a Pigeon this morning.
Not cat attack. Feathers everywhere and Pigeon breast only removed (violently) concluded it was a bird of Prey having breakfast in the garden.
Cat flap is now unlocked as he's been granted parole now after 2 weeks inside and some supervised exercise periods. He just has to work out the flap's unlocked now.....
Now he sleeps, until 2 or 3'ish then he starts prowling :)
Hendricks is chilling in his box next to me whilst I wfh today...
