  • Is there any reason why I shouldn't run a Cannondale Synapse as a winter/light touring rig. I already have a CAAD 12 which is a lovely summer runaround.
    It's just all the previous conversations about BB30s and creaking brackets has
    me peturbed. i have no worries on the summer bike but winter up here in Yorkshire can be really damp.

  • i've been using my BB30 SuperX in disgusting conditions for a few years silently. I can't say the same for my threaded road bike used only on nice days

  • i changed my BB30 bearings and used this stuff:

    not a single noise from it, year round yorkshire shite too

  • Will probably be fine if you have mudguards and keep it dry when not in use.

  • I have a caad10 and worried the bb30 would creak. It's completely silent! Bike rode all year round here in Scottish weather.
