They won two stages, but Ben Hermans of Israel Cycling Academy won the GC.

I saw a provisional rider list at the end of last week that definitely did include him. Either that was wrong, which would be strange as for the teams it did have complete it was accurate, or he had been withdrawn having initially been included.

So are we all getting back on board the Roglic hype train for the Vuelta or will Carapaz be heading to Ineos as a double grand tour winner?

You forgot Betancur

Roglic needs a win if he doesn’t want to play domestique de luxe for Dumoulin next season.
I think Superman Lopez will be a major threat, backed by a ridiculously strong Astana team.

So did Movistar.

What happened to Pidcock? Smashed up face all over the ‘gram

He crashed in the final kilometre of today’s stage of the Tour de l’Avenir. He finished the stage but has withdrawn from the race.

Ethan Hayter crashed out and broke his collarbone yesterday. It's been a tough race for the GB u23s, two stage wins and two high profile crashes.
Hopefully both Hayter and Pidcock will be fit for the Worlds next month.

Fuglsang has extended at Astana for another two years. He was asking for a significant pay rise and being touted to other teams, I wonder if he got as much as he was after.

That sounds like a great stage.

I forgot about the hugely irritating way Kirby pronounces "Superman".
I'm out.

Haven't heard his take. Rob Hatch, however.... God, I can't get it out of my mind now.

It’s a long-standing joke on the Cycling Podcast, and television’s Rob Hatch used to share a flat with television’s Daniel Friebe.

Ah Twitter. Taylor Phinney pops up soliciting questions and this is one of the first given...TBF it's a valid of inelegantly expressed question and it was well answered:

What a cuntish way to ask the question. Good answer considering.

I think that's who I'm thinking of too now you mention it.
Ugh.

yeah, read it and was "ouch" but then also, well... it's true isn't it... I think he answered really well considering and is obviously no longer striving/entertaining illusions in the way that Bardet seems to have come to terms with being a polka jersey/stage rider has helped in some way.

team sport, innit? TBH, his leg break was so bad it's almost a miracle he's even back in the peloton so I give him respect for that, even if EF are like the Scooby Doo Pro Cycling outfit now.
