• Howdy folks, as above I’m on the hunt for 1” carbon forks and a 10 speed ultegra Di2 rear mech
Help me make my dreams come true!
    Cheers,
    Matt

  • Unfortunately a used 6770 RD is now worth more than a brand new 8050 RD

I paid about £70 five years ago and the price is now at least double and possibly nearly triple that!

  • Yeah I know it’s nuts! Am also hunting a front and rear 11speed but that’s much easier on eBay, just mean I’ll also need a new Freehub body, cassette and chain... and I’ll still have a 10speed front mech in the parts bin :(

  • Has to be the Columbus forks, matty? I have 1" Chinese carbon if you're interested

  • My OCD says yes as the frame is Columbus... cheers though, are they the £72 eBay ones Señor_Bear had on his de Rosa?

  • No worries. Makes sense to match them up if it's a nice frame and you can afford to.

Yup am selling the same fork. Thanks for mentioning actually, as am interested to know what headset he is using.

  • Might have something for you..how much steerer is required?

  • Not certain as yet as I’m still in the process of buying the frame - it’s a 56cm so I’d guess at the headtube being about 14.5cm... I don’t normally use any spacers so can be on the shorter side I think...

  • My fork was off a 54 frame..and slammed.
Probably too short sadly...but will measure.

  • Bump! It’s for this...

  • Bump - would anyone trade a 6770 front mech for a 6870?

    Still hunting 1" minimals!

    Cheers

  • Hey Matt,

Or if you're interested (and can be arsed to sand graphics off carbon again...) i'm pretty sure i have some ITM 1" carbons that i won't want much for.

  • Unfortunately a used 6770 RD is now worth more than a brand new 8050 RD

Out of interest, why is this?

  • Nice one! I’d found ones for £160 new so unless those come down to £80/90 I’ll pass - I am interested in your ITM ones though - are they straight balde? I think I will get whatever I do end up with painted to match the frame so hopefully not too much graft on the carbon stripping myself 👍🏻

  • As far as I can tell it’s for folks who have posh wheels that they can’t convert to 11speed, CK classic for example... it means they’d need new wheel/freehub and cassette, chain and front mech if their 10speed rear died - the silly prices are probably just cheaper than the upgrade option...

  • Nah more of a classic curve, alloy steerer. I'm almost certain there 1" but i'll double check on Friday when i'm back in town. If they are 1" you're welcome to try them on the frame first to see how they look.
