Gravel/mountain bike routes near Penzance?

  • Hi.

I’m going on a family holiday near Penzance in a few weeks and would like to take the gravel bike to make use of any decent trails in the area. Anyone know of a good off-road or mixed terrain route round there?

    Cheers,

    Tom.

  • Any Cornwall based people out there that know a good route?

  • Try trailforks

  • Or komoot

  • Not sure how much of this was gravely in Cornwall but maybe worth checking - https://www.theracingcollective.com/gbduro.html

  • All good shouts. Cheers.

  • I'd love to hear what you find.

I visit family there and really enjoy the cycling in autumn and winter - mostly sticking to the roads out of tourist season - the coast roads around Zennor are awesome, and Jack Thurstons lost lanes west has a good route.

With the gravel bike you could link up to the portreath to devoran "coast to coast", it is a short route but stick around Poldice mine and there's some entertaining off roading /mtb there from memory.

    Enjoy it

  • Hey, thanks for this. The Lost Lanes route looks brilliant. I can definitely cope with some quiet lanes around this amazing area. Thanks again, Tom.
