I would be very interested in any London built frame my size and original paint.
Depends a lot on the colour (I am very shallow )
And what other interest there is in saving it(I have just picked up a Clarks of Harrow which will probably take up most of my stash of my period correct parts.)
Built with cantis sounds interesting ,built for cycle cross maybe ?
Looking forward to seeing the pics. -

wow, this is beautiful and just what i'd be interested in, but i'm a total newbie and have no clue what a reasonable offer would be or how much it would cost to fix up. let me know if you have a price in mind.

I have one of those stems on my hetchins, and I have seen them sell for upwards of £300.....so, without wishing to piss on any bargain hunter's bonfires, you're looking at at least £500 for frame and bits....it would be north of that if split.
The saddle would come up a treat witha bit of tlc too.... -

Very interested, PM sent.

Lol, happy to take it without the "£300" stem .
Might be better if you move this to the what's it worth thread on here and or Retrobike until you figure out a price ? -

as with anything unusual or desirable, if people want it, have the means to fund it and can justify it, the price rises in line with that..... Now, don't be a cunt and quote me out of context.
What I said was clear..... I have seen them sell for upwards off £300. I didn't say that this one was worth £300.
With that in mind, realise that I was trying to stop a cunt from buying it cheap, splitting it up and -

I don't know what happened there...
*of £300Splitting it and creaming a profit.....
I can't edit the above, but you get the gist

Looks great

If you want to get the max ££ for it, then split it and go to eBay.
Those stems are lovely, but that one needs £150 worth of restoration work.

Thanks for all the useful comments and DM's.
I am going to do some research into the history of the frame and then come back with a view on price, splitting / keeping whole etc.
Cheers again for all the feedback. -

What a nice frame. Wraparound seatstays are just so elegant, and the fork crown is also great.

You can purchase a frame like that from a well known London dealer for £1000. Take the price of a respray and decals off that sum, and it will give you a negotiable starting price. Then get some idea of new components and knock 80 percent off the price of new parts. Bare in mind that thing are always quoted as "they're going for" when what is really meant is "they are asking for a said price" which is a hell of a lot different to "they are going for such and such price." Asking is one thing, selling it, for the asking price, is another thing!

So I decided to split this up and eBay it. Here is a link below to the frame and I have listed a selection of the parts also, ones that I thought might be worth the hassle. Lets see what they go for!?
I have a residual of other parts off the bike that I am happy to let go here for beer money / forum contributions. I will list them on this thread shortly, they are; Mafac levers and callipers, cranks and pedals, as well as a 27 1 1/4 wheel set.

Could be interested in the wheels - What are the hubs/rims please?
Do you still have the seat post as well -
• #22
Wow! Nice long wheelbase, and eyelets for fenders and racks. “Half-step” gearing with the front chainrings appearing so close in teeth numbers. 52/48? So you have some good gear combinations. Bar end shifters and cantis- all this points to a state of the art audax rig for its day! The frame is the icing on the cake! Restored would be a humdinger. GLWS

Hi, @SideshowBob sorry the delay in coming back.
The wheels are: front unbranded hub and Rigida Chrolux rim and the rear is Campag hub (very early) and Milremo rims with a 5 speed shimano block. (photos will follow)
They are yours if you want them - forum donation at your discretion.
Collection in London SE19 or Holborn.
The seat post will be sold with the saddle. -

I also have cranks and pedals … photos to follow.

So this is a garage find via my dad. I want to sell the whole bike as seen. Its a project for sure. Whilst everything works the bike needs love to get it road worthy a proper.
Its a Youngs of Lewisham 531 frame from around the early 1960s I guess. Braze on's for cantilevers. Top tube 57cm ctc and seat tube 59cm ctc. The frame is put together with a lug at the seat post cluster (with a nice Rouke-like wrap over) and the remainder looks fillet brazed? Original paint including logo on the down tube and head tube badge. The paint is great for its age and but there are allot of marks, scratches, blemishes etc. as you would expect.
Has the original steel cinelli stem, the 1950s/1960s one with the screw on badge, plus the original brooks saddle. The other parts are a mix of campagnolo, mafac, GB bars and a shimano 500 rear mech. The wheels (27" 1 1/4) spin fine but I would start again.
I am struggling on what price to ask. For me, the main value is in the frame, saddle and stem. I don't want to be fishing but happy to put this out there and get views on price.
As with most of us, I cant deal with eBay etc. and would much prefer the bike went to someone on here that would restore and ride, rather than strip and sell.
Full list of the parts and pictures to follow.
Based in Crystal Palace, London, SE19 viewing welcome.
Any interest?
