Silk Road Mountain Race (SRMR)

Yeah, I would use the widest tyres I could find. I've just ordered a bunch of different tyres for the Mason for the same reason. Tops out at 32/33mm though. Got some Pro4 28s and a G-One Speed in my bag now and some other tyres in that range coming soon.

Looks like Jay Petervary is picking up where he left off last year and setting the pace 90km in. @skinny at the pointy end too

Apparently Megan (rider 57) got hit by a car before the start. She's riding but has some nasty wounds. Fingers crossed she can stay free from any infections.

Jeff Kerkove leads by a few KM from Jay. Wish frrt was working at the moment. By far the best way to dotwatch IMHO.

I don’t know if it’s just because I’m on my phone but I’m struggling a bit with mapprogress .

I love the way @skinny describes the Dirty Reiver 200 as 'short'. I suspect most people who ride it wouldn't use that word!
