Saw some Rogers standmounters (LS 100? Not sure as I didn't get good look at them) at local charity shop in West Sussex for £100 a pair. Might be of use to someone on here

I talked about this a few months ago but I'm about to pull the trigger.
Revo Supersystem or Naim Mu-So v1?
Will be playing from Spotify in a small living room.

If you're looking at Revo then I'd recommend their ebay outlet store for good deals

Yeah, it is from there I was looking at for £400 or the Naim for £550

Why are there YouTube videos of people filming hifi systems at high end shows, with music playing, and nothing else?
What the flying fuck is the point of that?
"Yeah, here's a video, recorded on a phone, played back on a phone, of a £100k hi fi. Doesn't it sound great?
No, it sounds like a phone you fucking doofus. The whole point of this ridiculous hobby is hi fidelity recording and playback, you twonk.

Lol

You haven’t seen YouTube reviews of hi fi where the comments are things like “it lacks bass” or “the treble is too sharp”. They would probably be commenting on the flavours of foods in videos they watch too.
-
• #6565
Yeah, I just checked and people are commenting on the video with things like "sounds amazing" or "the viola sounds perfect but the flute sound is a bit shhhsy".
What the mint choc chip are they smoking?

Just bought a Naim Mu So. Should be with me tomorrow. Hope it is worth the high price.

grating highs, depressing lows

Yeah, post a vid up on here so we can assess its stereo imaging and bass response.

If anyone is after some new bookshelf speakers, I've got some Quad S1s which I'm not using at the moment. In a fetching Rosewood finish.
Plenty of Youtube vids out there you can check out to test their tonality (or come round to mine for a listen)

Turned up lunchtime. Been playing with it most of the afternoon. Plays blues and jazz really well. Handles hip hop fine but metal (only listened to Archspire) feels lacking. Overall I'm happy.
Hugh Laurie's rendition of St. James infermery sounds like a different song. Hearing things I haven't heard before.
Edit: Just put on some Suicide silence, sounds good. Don't know what is wrong with Archspire. Tried it through tidal and Spotify, both sound shite.

Metal and rock are tricky through good hi fi systems. I think my ears are used to hearing moah distortion and miss it when there is less.
The first time I listened to Pixies on my system I was underwhelmed. Then I listened to Doolittle again and paid attention, it was great. Also, note that the lack of distortion means you can go louder. That fixes most things.

It really opens up when the dial is cranked but I'm in a semi-detached house in a rural setting. Don't want to piss of the neighbours!

Wondering if it's possible to run Wi-Fi/Bluetooth speakers off my late 1970s amp? I'd like to be able get a wireless speakers so we can listen (to CDs/LPs) in other rooms without running wires everywhere. The amp is an A&R Cambridge A60 which was modified for RCA cables.
Could I run something like a Sonos Connect via the tape deck ports /connection and sync a Sonos speaker to that?
I spoke to a guy in Richer Sounds but he suggested I'd need a new amp and within minutes we'd gone from a few hundred quid to a grand...

That might be why I like the sound of my Nova 8B/HK 430 Twin combo, the sound of the 70s!
Nice stands. Why you sell?
