Thanks to everyone who's posted on here (& various other forums). After too much thought, I opted for a Carradice Super C SQR Slim. It is perfect for me. Even though it's second hand and a factory second (Debbie nursing a hangover?), the workmanship and design are spectacular. I can't believe these aren't more widely used.
I commute 10 miles a day, occasionally squeezing in 20...often with laptop, clothes, lunch, etc. All fits in the bag. Bag holds its shape, very quick to fit/unfit. I weighed my Topeak pannier rack and Altura laptop pannier compared to the Carradice....saved 1.25kg. Also I now get to see my bike in all its titanium glory.
