Any ideas for a uk-based bank hol bike trip? Ideally something off tarmac with spots for secluded bivvys, and within easy (and cheap!) train distance from London.

South Downs way.
Thameslink only ticket London-Brighton is pretty cheap, although you could go to Winchester or Eastbourne and start there.

South Downs is a good shout, though I've done a little tour there before so was looking to go slightly further afield. Though the close proximity/cheap tickets are definitely a bonus!

@platypus where can I find those routes?
