  • Found a USB cable.....
Cat was hiding them because he's pissed off at being dragged up north.

    (he's not the only one)

  • Cat-cave 1

    The conservatory.
Box tunnel. A catnip tunnel and carpet circles that smell right.
He spent most of first 2 days in here.

  • Bed room Cat-cave.

Small wardrobe he tried to hide under the duvet on top so I put a box up there and chopped a bit off the blue blanket we had on our bed a week or so before we finally packed to move, try and get it to smell right, a chunk of this lined his carry box as well.
He now splits time between the wardrobe cave and the packing paper on the table.

Now 6 days into moving house and cat has perked up lot's. He will get a look at the garden soon.

Cat flap is about 11" off the ground inside. Outside this equates to maybe a 20" + drop to the ground.
Need more bricks (pics to follow) but got some slabs and bricks to build up a step/platform level with inside. Had a dry build up and play around today and getting more bricks in morning along with toilet seats, light shades, shower parts, O-rings for plumbing, taps, window locks.... etc etc

  • Cat went into the garden today.

Lasted under 60seconds. While he is relaxing with new indoors the new outdoors was too much so he came in again.

Got more bricks this morning and dry built the cat step again, pretty good, has a minor wobble and a natural slope to one side.

Will go take a pic as had a thought as i think the flap is still high in the door !

  • So 2 doors to get out both same height inside of around 11"
Exiting outdoors would be a drop of 19" with no step.

With bricks as in photo the step is just level with the bottom of the door frame.
I can rotate the bricks and gain another 1 3/4" height which would need a wood infill to door frame.

Lots of room inside so I could make a small platform to screw onto back of door, maybe the outside too.

  • Cat cave sounds more like it.

When he gets used to new enviroment he can go out at night and fight crime.

Haven't seen any other cats yet so he might get a big chunk of real estate to patrol and neighbours gardens to poop in :)

  • Currently throwing whats left of my steak & kidney pie around on the floor getting the juciy bits out and eating the cheesy mash.

Litter tray will full in morning.

  • When he gets used to new enviroment he can go out at night and fight crime.

Now I have a little movie going on in my head...well the original tim burton batman staring a cat.

  • On the edge of a small rural town, cemetery across the road so maybe zombies, then fields of mice.

  • Although it may not look like it, this is full on daddy long legs killing mode.

  • A rescue cat, left by his feral mum on the back step of Coventry Peace House, once re-housed elsewhere then re-offered, Theo joined us in 2012 and died suddenly this evening, aged 7.

He had the sharpest claws in the North & a bite to match, also a loud purr and fondeness for chin tickles & belly rubs from the brave and foolhardy. A keen mouser, rarely a birder, he knew who the garden feeders were intended for.

He always wanted someone to watch him eat, and enjoyed sleeping in boxes.

    RIP Theo. Xx

  • That sucks! Sorry to hear this, so young too. Hope you are ok?

If you don’t mind my asking, what happened?

  • @ExTra We're all (me, partner, & daughter) understandably upset but will be ok I think. We thought he'd have many more years.

He was fine 5pm, dead at 7pm. Neighbour found him dead on her front lawn so knocked on to let us know.

Friend a few doors down 16yo cat died last week, again sudden despite age & found on a lawn. We're discussing the similar circumstances but all need to keep emotions in check and not jump to any hasty conclusions.

  • I hope they are just unfortunate coincidences and not connected.

I hope you and your family will accept my best wishes.

  • Ditto & thanks.
