  • After blowing all my cash on my m.t.b habit (Scott spark r.c and a trek slash 9.8) I found myself “needing” a cross bike. Built this for about £350, maybe a bit less. Happy with it thus far, would like nicer wheels tho.

  • This is my new project, planning on a commuter/light tourer kinda thing.

Plan atm is new wheels, v brakes, 1x, rack and basket, slicks, mudguards, longer seatpost and different saddle, probably different bars, levers and shifters.

Hoping to do it relatively cheaply as I got it as pictured for €50 and don't have any parts for it so it'll be a slow burner I think.

  • Muddy bro 🙋‍♂️

  • That looks like fun 👍🏻

  • I remember yours! Just found it again with a quick search, yours is almost exactly how I think mine will turn out haha!

Don't suppose you know the difference between a courier comp and a pathfinder?

  • Don't suppose you know the difference between a courier comp and a pathfinder?

I was just pondering that, after seeing yours wasn't a Pathfinder like mine. I have no idea!

Tubing perhaps? My Pathfinder is made of Tange MTB tubes. Otherwise different geo maybe?

Plans sound good! Will be following this.

  • Yeah, I only had a left side cable stop lying around - doesn't work though, the cable is rubbing. Right hand side one is on the way

  • After a near 10 year hunt...

  • Just move it over to the other side and cross the cable over under the downtube. It makes cable routing nicer too.. I set up all my bikes like that

  • No, I also built that frame up for him and he loves that bike so immensely he wanted a second one as close to the first build as possible. That frame was a r900 2.8 though

  • This 'dale looks lovely!
I just would have put Shimano brakes to match the rest.

  • I just saw your wanted thread pop up and had a chuckle at when it started. Lovely frame

  • Thanks. It will be...

  • I know, I don’t usually, but the “worth it” joke doesn’t work as well when it’s non-gendered.

  • Did you find it hidden under a secret trapdoor under your flooring? Rotating fireplace perhaps?

  • After a near 10 year hunt...

    ... you found your floorboards?

  • Arh yes. I remember now. Sort of same colour. Really great frames both

  • Ha, it’s only been a 9 month wait for them...

  • me too @boredom curious as to how it will develop, as I bought the same frame as @Tijs but also a million other projects and it's still lying somewhere in a dusty corner.

@Tijs see you at DiDa gravel this Sunday?

  • @Tijs see you at DiDa gravel this Sunday?

To honour my Muddy Fox, I'm already doing the Pathfinder ride in Eindhoven this Saturday. Plan for Sunday was to go to the city MTB world cup. @Jaap might be there though I believe.

You have the same frame? Cool! Please don't make a better bike than mine. I know you have good taste. ;)

  • current state of the main whip. taking bmc to the bike shop tomorrow and then giving it to my brother. he needs a bike. i would like a proper wheelset in the coming weeks.

  • That looks uncomfortable. Skinny tyres. Sloped saddle. No bar tape aside from thin grips in drops. Lots of weight on your wrists. I hope you at least wear padded gloves.
