I could be up for splitting the Vigorelli as somebody has shown interest in the frameset.
Would anybody be interested in the wheels/cranks/cockpit brake levers etcWould prob be £120/£45/£45
Wheels are mint Condor/Mavic Open pro with as new vittoria tyres
Cranks are Stronglight with a DA ring. BB included.
The Deda bars are fitted with cane creek lever/stoker and an ultegra brake -

The Mercian is beyond lovely...5 or 6 speed or 7?....70s TT set up... thankfully way too big....Campag/TA.... beautiful...GLWS.
-
• #10
Hi, thanks. It's a 6 speed Regina freewheel. 70s tt is exactly what it is. Tight clearances, only 1 braze on the downtube. Frame was built 1978 and is fully restored by Mercian.
I think to the right buyer the bike is worth well in excess of what I am asking, but i haven't found him yet! It would probably do well across the pond, but not really up for posting.

I dont suppose you have the (compact) chain rings for the SR chainset as well? could be interested if you do
-
• #12
Hi, sorry i do not, but the cranks are standard 135bcd anyway.
Admittedly, they are a bit of a niche sale but again for the right person, fantastic components. The n-w chainring will work with 9/10/11 speed. Perfect for a campy (or shimano etc) 1x set up. Unbelieveably light and stiff (think about 600g with bsa bb cups and fittings included).

Sorry, just seen crank length!
-
• #14
Yeah 177.5 so for the taller gent! (I would say 6ft3+ but it depends on other factors too really)
-
• #15
If it had been 52-54cm...I might well be knocking on your door for it...sort of bike I have wanted since I saw a photo of Alf Engers in the 1970s....love it.

£425 for the Merlin

Tubs? What rims? This might be better on Retrobike?
-
• #18
Yeah tubs. Campy Record 28h to mint Mavic Monthlery Legere (light) rims. The tubs are nos Wolber performance.
I will stick it back on ebay if there are no takers tonight. Retrobikers will probably comb ebay well enough. My reasoning for listing here was that it is London based, so with my Dad heading down there might be a local person interested in picking it up.

It is a beauty and surprised no one else has commented on it...what is the top tube as a matter of interest?
-
• #20
Yep is beautiful but perhaps not so practical..awesome wall hanging though 😊 I may even keep it for a shop display.
Top tube is 57cm
-
• #21
It is a thing of beauty.. simplicity but with more flexibility than a fixed gear bike...and being friction unlikely to go wrong... tubs with a spot of sealant won't let you down...sadly I need a 54cm TT.....hope you don't have to sell...it is reminder of a wonderful generation of bikes...but I am being sentimental...perhaps carbon is faster but lacks the soul of the Mercian.

I guess that 58 vig is too big for a 6ft 2 guy. Damn I've wanted one for years!!

Hi not at all you would be spot on. I am 6ft2.5 and its great. Depending on your arm length reduce or lengthen stem, but think you would be fine.
To add - its not a hugely blingy build, just very practical and great riding.
Hi all,
My Dad is heading down to London (Mitcham) to visit my sister this week, and I've got him to agree to bring down and deal on any bike bits that I sell. He's arriving Tuesday so will be about in the evening and all day Wednesday, but is heading back in the eve, so I need to have solid sales agreed because he will have a van full coming back. Only genuine interest please! I hope you feel my prices are fair!
