Clearing out our office I've come across a Cat 6a cable with a single rj45 plug at one end and the other splits off into 4 individual rj45 plugs (1x blue, 1x orange, 1x brown, 1x green). I assume because of the colouring of the plugs they correspond to each pair of wires within the cable.
A cursory Google didn't shed any light on what this is/does probably because I have no idea what exactly to search for, can anyone sate my curiosity please?
My old company used to make these (by hand!) - annoyingly I can’t remember who or exactly what they were for but I vaguely recall it was to do with office phone systems.
Possibly for interfacing legacy analog stuff with IP based systems.
