How long did it fool your wife? If she never twigged...that is justification enough for buying it!

Not that long but long enough to make the introduction of a new bike easier to negotiate.

Her: Is that a new bike?
Me: No no, it's just that one which was upstairs.
Her: Where upstairs? I don't remember a bike being upstairs?
Me: You know [changes subject]

If there is enough of a time gap...it sometimes works....my partner knows I don't have such a bike...sadly 😿
