Herman has one of the play circuites too, prefers it when it's circular. Also in the toys that we're left over from Euronymous (R.I.P.) was a large rat toy from ikea that he's played with since we brought him home, that was actually bigger than him.

Hi cat people
looking for a bit of advice - we have a 13 year old cat. She has always been the only cat in the house, quite an indoorsy type, thinks she is more human then cat, very sociable, comes on holiday with us.
One of the kids' friends has a cat with a litter and said kid is keen to take one of the kittens, which I don't mind but don't want to do it if it will upset our existing cat who is more or less an OAP.
Would introducing a kitten to the house be likely to cause problems?

Kittens normally don’t cause problems.

That's a lot of words about a cat without a picture...
Introducing a really young kitten is usually fine as the existing cat can set the rules but you definitely need to make sure they have a space they can escape to when the kitten is getting on their nerves.

Thank you @Soul and @MementoMori
Seems like it could be a viable plan then. Our house is on three levels so quite a bit of opportunity for two cats to carve out their own spaces.

If you take two kittens instead of one, they'll play with each other instead of harassing poor Freddie 24/7. Kittens need a lot of playtime.
She looks gorgeous!

When 2 become 3 become 4 become 5 become...

Or leave the one cat happy as being Lord and master of his place.

two kittens is always the answer.
Unless the question is - "Would you like four kittens?"

What’s the difference between 4 and 6 kittens? 😼😼😼😼😼😼
-
• #9218
Everything in the house flat being covered in fur and destroyed.

In that case, I shall change my question to “what’s the difference between 6 and 10 kittens?
-
• #9220
The amount of food going in and poo coming out.
Then deciding your favourite.

My mate Blue. Never been a cat person at all (doesn't help that I'm allergic to them) but he's my girlfriend's and he's a massive legend. Loves stamping on me when I'm trying to sleep.

Moved house.
Packed up over months so cat got used to boxes everywhere. On moving day he got an early breakfast he liked that, then he went out for a poop then 30 mins before the removal lorry arrived the trap was sprung.
Got him hooked on dreamies over last week, open the door rattle bag of dreamies and cat appears :) he's now locked in and twigs somethings going down (maybe vet) he gets shoved into a Feliwayed carry box, back seat of car as lorry arrives and is on his way up north for 5 hours.
He sleeps. :)
That was Tuesday.
We now have 2 box caves in the house so he can hide away and have been spraying feliway about the place.
Cats can lay some serious cable and stink out a house, this was done in litter tray. Since having big poop he has perked up (funny that) we reckon he can see the garden Sat or Sun but i have to build a step so he can get in and out of the cat flap. Maybe next Wed's we will let him out unsupervised during the day.
As more things unpack and furniture is built up and normal smells kick in (previous owner had 2 house cats) the little fella is getting relaxed and sitting by front door.....waiting.... -

Well in that case, I’ll stick to my dream, which is when I grow up, I’ll have a house full of cats. Numbers wont matter anymore.

Have you told told your overlord? She wasn't happy about other cats dirtying her drinking water.
Or open a cat shelter.....or be like that old lady in islington that had 45 cats in her flat!!!! Two years ago they took 70 cats from her.
The ball rolling on the circuit is quite noisy, especially on hard floors.
Got this and two cats just look at it. https://www.catit.com/uk/shop/senses-2-0-wellness-center/
