I’d put some more splatters on there in a second colour.
Looks great, but I agree. Only a few mind. Probably in a very light colour - white/off-white or yellow.
It really does look good btw.

Orange splatters look really nice!
I like that they are a bit bigger and more spread out than the standard splatter paint job.Good work!

Frame promised a lot and the bike delivers. Congratulations!

Are you making stems to order?
-
• #908
I can do, just might take me a while to get it made.
What are you after?

Quite fancy something for the tandem... lemme find a photo of an idea

Very nice! I think splatter looks tasteful in a minimalist way. What does the headbadge stand for?

Thanks.
It’s meant to be an origami bird.
Sort of represents freedom, movement, that sort of thing.

This is all sorts of lovely, really nice bike.

Fucking sick dude

New project.
Gonna be a sort of ‘proof of concept’ for one of the bikes I’d like to take to Bespoked.
Can you guess what it is yet?

Tiny cargo bike?
Minivelo? -

Minivelo?
Bingo.
If my design works out I’ll build another from scratch and take it to Bespoked. This one will probably take the place of my little Puch folder (that never gets folded).

Balance bike?
I reckon there’s still enough stiffness in it that it could be used as a balance bike pretty much as it is.

Bingo
Ehh nice one, thats a cool project. I think pithy bikes is making a minivelo atm, could be good for inspiration.

Cool, I’ve started following them on insta.
My design is going to be a little bit different so I should probably keep it ‘under wraps’ until Bespoked but knowing myself I’ll want to show it off too much!

(Almost) Completed one job and just started another this week that people are gonna maybe find a bit controversial.
First was widening and adding disc tabs to a Stars and Stripes paint Kona A’ha.
Job I just started tonight is sort of doing the reverse of what I’m going to do to the bmx with my Surly 1x1. I’m going to drop the toptube and seat stays down and cut the top off the seattube to turn it from a 21”ish frame into something like a 14-16” one.
-
• #922
whaaattt!!! you cut up the 1x1 :(((
-
• #923
I did.
I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I could have sold it and bought a smaller frame but the toptube has a big dent and the headtube had been dented and pushed back out too so combined with the size and it being rim brake only, I don’t reckon it’d have sold for very much, certainly not enough to cover buying one of the frames on my wish list.
This way I get to keep it and hopefully it’ll get more use than it has been getting.

I love this thread, it's the DIY punk attitude.
Keep chopping stuff up and sticking stuff together. -

Cheers!
Turned it into an adult size balance bike tonight...
