• A spare tarp to cover it when it was white, now I just make sure i and my bike are invisible.

Have camped at chew valley lake before... in the tiny woods in the car park, and walkers came past, didn’t see me or my bike!

Just be as hidden as possible, heard of a shoelace around the bike and your biv / you before

  • thanks - I figure I'll lie it on its side, maybe with the front wheel lodged under the non-sleep side of the tent. would be difficult to get away without being alerted. would also camp in a discrete place to set myself up for success

another noob question - what are people's charging solutions for electronics? I'll be pretty reliant for wahoo charging on this, for route-finding

  • Currently I just use a pebble battery pack, I have a young kiddo so have camped out for one night since her birth and I’m not sure I enjoyed it tbh... even if it was my stag do!

More than a night or two I would use a sinewave revolution, £120, just plug onto a dynamo hub and plug in your usb, I would charge a battery pack then down charge onto a phone etc if possible

  • If you want a cheaper alternative check out the ‘velocharger’ (spa sell them here) I’ve got one and although I’ve not put it through the ringer, it seems well made and reliable. I spoke to the guy that designed them quite a bit before I bought it and he seemed very confident in it, he said they hadn’t had an failures at the time. I guess he’s got a vested interest but he was ‘just a guy’ as opposed to a company and seemed genuine and down to earth. As ever, YMMV.
