  • I fell off my bike yesterday and got a concussion, am fine enough and on the mend but doctor reckons my annual ride to bristol then weekend of festival is a bad idea (I can see where he's coming from) and so I'm cancelling it.

I have generic travel insurance through my bank, will this be covered? There's curtailment and cancellation cover due to bodily injury within it, but I'm basically wondering if it only applies if the injury happens on trip?

  • Glad to hear you're on the mend. Naturally the small print will be your best bet to determine level of cover and exclusions however typically (non-fault) injury/illness that precludes travel is covered IME. Possible your bank cover 'gimme' is the lowest cover but definitely worth a phone call if up to it.

  • That's encouraging, thank you, I'll give it a try tomorrow I think. Nothing to lose by trying, shy bairns get nowt after all
