As a colour ref, I made these from western red cedar finished in Osmo UV. Quite red (good), but a bit more glossy than I’d like. I think because you don’t bother wiping off the excess - like when finishing furniture - it builds up a more satin / gloss layer. Rain beads right off though.
If I did it again, I’d obvs go for LOOK cladding. Got the cedar form Southgate Timber if you do go down the non-branded route though.
I love it when you chip in to my projects, always save me some hassle or a fortune. Southgate timber do their boards considerably cheaper than my local supplier. Thanks!
