  • Brill thanks, looks like a good shout, I will check it out. Absolute top for budget would be £500 but if I can do the job for around £250 that's far more palatable. Focal length, this is where my knowledge is limited, I thought macro lenses tended to be much higher focal length than 30mm. Does longer focal length just mean you don't need to be as close to the subject?

    What MisterMikkel said, basically!
    If you can do without extra lights etc. and just want to "get close" this will do the job (plus you'd have a very nice prime lens with quite a useful focal length).
