Decided to try it out on an old strap of similar leather and construction. Not too shabby I think.
Power reserve is 44,5 hours. Good enough for me.

It’s looking a lot nicer like that. The burnished leather is really in-tune with the watch. Maybe you’re right, that it was more that the other strap is new and unworn.

Yeah really like that, looks great especially with the worn strap. Personally I wouldn’t be too fussed about the crown but I would get it serviced if the history is unknown and it’s also a gift. Be a shame for it to konk out!

Strap looks really chunky for the watch, but I’m used to much thinner leather for smaller dress watches. I like your de-engraving. Hopefully you didn’t take off too much metal.
