that's pretty bad. how many miles (and what type) are you putting on these to get that type of wear? I don't think I've ever worn a tyre through to that point - and I cycle a reasonable amount (c.4000mpa)

Ha! That was the second or third time I'd ridden them. These are the slick version of the gravel kings - and what UK gravel (aka old railway lines) do to them.
Is the tyre fast? Then it is thin and will puncture more. Apparently only Conti GP 4S meet this magical actual toughness / fast criteria.
People conception of tyres and speed and toughtness is the same as "waterproof" jackets and breathe-ability: you just don't get to have both.
