Very nice

Nice - did it come with hub brakes from new? Have wondered about building a towpath bike with drums, but wondered about performance if I ever did have to go downhill.

Think I've seen that Bontrager (and rider) on my home. Frame looked good in the flesh.
Edit: Sorry, big dredge.

I'm really not sure, the forks look a bit rattlecanned but there are no canti-bosses and no sign that there ever was... I'm inclined to think it was an aftermarket modification as I've never seen another conquest with them and also there are no braze-ons for the brake arms - they're just P-clipped to the frame.
I think my brakes need some serious attention and I hope they can be made to perform much better for downhills... fingers crossed! -

Anybody looking to sell one of their retro MTB's? In need of a new pub bike... want something with a jazzy paint job.

If you are a London based may be selling a frameset plus bits next week. Colours aren’t that jazzy though.

@cheekysnaker Yeah I'm London based, send me a message with the details?

I'm thinking of finishing and selling this one. Jazzy it is, I believe.
I only want for it what I spent on it + shipping from Belgium. It comes with the original GT saddle, not the one on the photo. Might seem expensive but it's almost catalog spec so more a collector's bike.

Reader's. I usually have a child seat on this with flat pedals and a rear rack, but last weekend I put it in "race mode" for an mtb orienteering event where we came second. I don't know much about vintage(or modern) mtb so don't rinse me.

On ebay now, the oldest Rocky Mountain I have seen. This might be when RM was the house brand for West Point Cycles, my neighbourhood bike shop at one time.
