  • Any suggestions on the best way to sort out wobbling and cracked floor tiles (30cmx30cm)? My kitchen has 4 or 5 tiles that started off wobbly and are now cracked and lifting.

I severely doubt that the floor has been properly prepared, this is what I found in the bathroom when a tile cracked:

However, the issue with the kitchen tiles is that they continue under the kitchen units so I don't want to lift them all up and redo it. What's the best way to remove 4 or 5 tiles in the middle of the room and replace them (I have spare tiles) without the issue coming back?

  • I believe removing tiles without destroying the adjacent ones is best done by cutting an 'X' in the tile. Then bend the pieces up and out from the centre.

  • Cheers. Removing them isn't really the issue, they're already cracked and lifting.
Wondering what the best way is of not having the new tiles wobble and crack in the same way.
